How To Clean The Sintered Felt Filter Element
Here are some tips on how to effectively clean sintered felt filter cartridges:
Step 1: Preliminary Inspection
Before cleaning the sintered felt filter element, please check for any visible damage such as cracks, dents, deformations, or tears. These damages may compromise the structural integrity of the filter, leading to further damage or failure during use. If you find any damage, please replace the filter immediately.
Step 2: Solvent free cleaning
Remove the filter element from the casing and use compressed air or a soft bristled brush to remove any loose particles or dirt from the surface. Ensure that the cleaning tools you use are non abrasive to avoid damaging the delicate structure of the sintered felt.
Step 3: Solvent Cleaning
If the filter element contains heavy dirt and grime, please use solvent cleaning methods. Choose a solvent that is compatible with the filter material and the filtered fluid. The most common solvents used for cleaning sintered felt filters are water, alcohol, and kerosene. Soak the filter element in the solvent for the recommended time, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Step 4: Drying
After cleaning, let the filter completely dry before reinstalling it into the casing. Use low-pressure compressed air flow to blow away any residual moisture.
Step 5: Final Inspection
After the filter element is dried, check for residual dirt, damage, or defects. A clean and well maintained sintered felt filter element should have a uniform appearance, without obvious signs of contamination, damage, or defects.
